The ETG Philosophy:
Makeup is a billion dollar industry, but do we really, truly need it? Eyeliner, eyeshadow, eyebrow pencil, mascara, blush, lipstick, lipliner, foundation, powder, highlighter and bronzer. Is it just me or is this way too complicated and time consuming?!
Trust me, I’ve tried all sorts of makeup products in the past. My bathroom cabinet looked like a mad scientist’s lab, with all sorts of brightly colored powders, liquids in glass bottles, and brushes. I would mix various products together and dissolve solid powders into liquids in hopes of finding the right color combination! All of my experiments were useless- since I wasn’t a professional makeup artist, I often ended looking worse with more makeup on. A good friend even flat out told me one day, “You look weird with makeup on.” OK, then! After that day, I just decided to forget the whole thing and simplify my life. Why invest all this time and money into makeup, when men don’t have to worry about it? I dumped most of my makeup in the trash, which forced me to improve my lifestyle habits, since I had no more options to add color onto my face with a makeup brush. To keep my eyes from looking tired, I needed to sleep more. To get dewy, radiant skin, I needed to eat well and stay hydrated.
Let’s make a pact to minimize the amount of makeup that we wear and use that time to work on our body’s inner makeup. Simplify your beauty routine! Whip up a fresh smoothie, savor a short passage from a favorite book, or quiet your mind with a 5 minute meditation. No makeup product can ever compete with the natural glow of happiness, serenity, and health.
Time to shine,
Josie
