With fresh turmeric and ginger, it might be better to steep the pieces and throw them out. Making a paste may cause irritation of the soft tissues of the mouth since too much ginger is potent.

I also like to cook with it and it makes chicken noodle soup really yummy. I’ve been wanting to make a tea out of it but didn’t know how. Now I do and think I will see how it makes my knee and other joints feel. I was doing water, cinnamon and honey and drinking it and it worked wonders, but it got old after a while and I got tired or all the sweetness. So this just might be the ticket!

It was refrigerated and you would use a spoonful in hot water for a tea. I will definitely make this calms because ginger calms digestion as does turmeric. You get the anti-inflammatory benefit of the turmeric as a bonus!
